A 5-Week Creative Hand Printmaking Programme
Discover the exciting world of hand printmaking through five inspiring workshops designed for young creatives. Led by Areej Abdi, founder of Table Top Art, practising printmaker and qualified teacher, this artist-led programme introduces a range of traditional and contemporary press-free printmaking techniques using sustainable materials and simple hand-printing methods.
Each workshop explores the work of an artist or printmaker, introducing participants to new techniques while building confidence, creativity and practical artistic skills. Every session builds on the last, encouraging experimentation, independent thinking and the development of a portfolio of original prints.
What You'll Explore
Monoprinting – Inspired by Nature
Take a short nature walk to collect leaves, grasses and textured materials before experimenting with expressive monoprinting techniques. Explore texture, layering and mark-making to create one-of-a-kind prints inspired by artists who work with the natural world.
Two-Colour Lino Printing
Design, carve and hand-print your own lino block using traditional relief printing techniques. Learn how to print in one and two colours to create a small edition of original prints.
Kitchen Lithography
Discover how everyday materials can be transformed into a simple printmaking process. Through drawing, mark-making and playful experimentation, create original prints while learning about the principles of lithography.
Collograph Printing
Bring along clean recycled materials such as cardboard, packaging and textured papers to build your own printing plate. Explore layering, texture and composition to produce richly detailed prints while discovering how sustainable materials can become works of art.
Cyanotype Printing
Using sunlight, natural materials and hand-drawn acetate designs, create beautiful blue cyanotype prints. After collecting leaves and flowers on a nature walk, combine photography, drawing and printmaking to produce unique botanical artworks.
