'When it comes to art, it's important not to hide the madness'

Atticus Herodes (AD 101–177),  Greek Philosopher

Areej Abdi is a visual artist whose creative world spans printmaking, painting, drawing, and photography. Drawing on both the world around her and her own inner landscape, Areej creates art that goes beyond form, capturing mood, emotion, and the quiet dialogue between the natural environment and the human mind.

Her practice is rooted in curiosity and a love of experimentation. Through abstract colour, shape, and spontaneity, she crafts work that is expressive and contemplative, inviting the viewer to pause, feel, and reflect. At the heart of everything she creates lies a deeply held belief: that the fragility of the natural world and the wellbeing of humanity are inseparably linked.

Driven by passion

Her art has evolved to focus on printmaking and process-led creative work. At the core of her practice is a commitment to wellbeing, creativity and accessible art education.

Her approach combines learning, making and creative exploration, encouraging participants to develop skills while building confidence and enjoying the process of creating. Through printmaking, she explores texture, layering and sustainable methods, using eco-friendly inks and recycled materials.

Areej specialise in printmaking, including lino printing and experimental processes, alongside a range of creative workshops that encourage artistic expression and confidence. Whether you're looking to learn a new skill or reconnect with creativity, our classes provide a supportive environment to create and explore.
